Rialto | Eigentlich reizt es mich wenig, millionenfach fotografierte Ansichten selbst auch noch zu fotografieren. Deshalb hatte ich nicht erwartet, ausgerechnet eine Aufnahme der Rialto-Brücke in Venedig für einen FineArt-Druck auszuwählen.
Diese Nachtaufnahme gefällt mir aber ausserordentlich gut - sowohl von der Komposition als auch von der Stimmung her.

Actually, it doesn't really appeal to me to photograph views that have been photographed millions of times. That's why I didn't expect to choose a photograph of the Rialto Bridge in Venice for a fine art print.
But I really like this night shot - both in terms of composition and mood.

Nighthawks | Ich mag die Bilder von Edward Hopper, bei denen man oft von draussen in Innenräume schaut und die eine gewisse Melancholie und Einsamkeit verströmen. Als Betrachter, als der ich mich auch immer ein wenig als Voyeur empfinde, weiss ich nicht recht, ob nun die Person drin einsam ist, oder ich als aussen (und hier sogar in regnerischer Kälte) Stehender?

I like Edward Hopper's pictures, where you often look inside from the outside and which exude a certain melancholy and loneliness. As an observer, who always feels like a bit of a voyeur, I don't really know whether the person inside is lonely or I, standing outside (and here even in the rainy cold)?

Zwischenraum hindurchzuschaun | Das ist eines jener Bilder, das seine Reize umso mehr entfaltete, je länger ich es betrachtete. Auch gedruckt vermochte es mich zu überzeugen. Venedig - unspektakulär aber authentisch.

This is one of those pictures that unfolded its charms the more I looked at it. It also convinced me in print. Venice - unspectacular but authentic.
